Installing JMP

Summary

JMP is statistical software for expert data analysis, DOE, and Six Sigma, from SAS. For Mac, Windows, and Linux.

JMP Student Edition is freely available to all qualified academic users without requiring your university to purchase a site license. The software is fully featured and based on JMP Pro, with no limitations on data size or analysis capabilities. Eligible users receive a 12-month license that can be renewed annually at no cost.

Registering

JMP now offers a free student edition; students no longer have to fill out a form to register for JMP.

1.  Register and download the software. Click on Get JMP for Free!

2. Scroll down and click on the Get Started at My JMP button. 

3. On the next page enter your Winona State email as follows and then select the Sign in button:  

Students:  Firstname.Lastname@go.winona.edu or jdoe15@winona.edu (if your email address is your first initial last name two numbers followed by @winona.edu)

Faculty: Firstname.Lastname@winona.edu or jdoe@winona.edu (if your email address is your first initial last name followed by @winona.edu) 

4. Then select Verify, the next page will prompt you to type in your first name and last name. It will automatically fill in your email address you entered on step 3. Select Sign up when finished.

   
5. You will be sent a verification code to your email. Go to your Winona State email, copy the code. Then paste the code and click Verify. 

6. You will be brought to this page, click ”I Accept” then click ”continue”. 

7. Fill out the required information as follows:
   • Affiliation: Select Student or Instructor
   • Course name
   • Course number
   • Winona State University as the School/University Name. 
   • Use Winona State's campus for location information: Winona, Minnesota, 55987 United States
   • Scroll down, check the box to agree to the terms and click Continue. 

8. On the next page click “start”. You will be asked to verify your academic status. 

9. Enter your email as following and select Submit.

   Students:  Firstname.Lastname@go.winona.edu 

   Faculty: Firstname.Lastname@winona.edu or jdoe@winona.edu (if your email address is your first initial last name followed by @winona.edu) 

10. You will then be emailed another verification code. After you verify, you should be signed in and brought to the following page. 

11. Click Windows or Mac based on your computer type, then follow the steps to install. 

Installing

 The Installer should now be downloaded from the previous instructions.

1. Double-click on the file you just downloaded to Launch the installer file to install JMP. 
2. Launch JMP. 
   
3. Sign into My JMP by entering your email address. A verification code will be sent to your email address to complete sign-in.
