Creating Captions

Once a video is uploaded to MediaSpace, captions and transcripts are automatically generated in English. After the video is uploaded, allow anywhere from a few minutes to hours for processing. Note that automatically generated captions are not fully accurate and they must be edited for accessibility.

Notes:

  • To meet accessibility standards, captions should be 100% accurate.

Editing Captions

  1. For any video, select the Edit icon to the right of the video title (pencil icon).
  2. Select the captions tab below the video window.
  3. Select Edit Captions.
  4. Edit captions as necessary and select Save.

Notes:

  • Save frequently.
  • Do not edit the time codes.
  • Correct only for accuracy, not vanity.
