Upload Credentials to IRBNet

Question

  • How do I upload my CITI or D2L research credentials to IRBNet?

Answer

All researchers of projects being submitted to the WSU IRB/IACUC, any faculty sponsor reviewing and signing student packages, and all WSU IRB/IACUC members are required to provide CITI or D2L research credentials.

  1. Using a web browser, visit www.irbnet.org and log in
  2. Select User Profile in top right corner
  3. Scroll down, and select the Add a New Training Credentials Record button under Training & Credentials
  4. Select the appropriate option for Document Type
    • Employees/Graduate Students
      • ​​​​​​​CITI Human Subjects Research for IRB submissions
      • IACUC - CITI Laboratory Animal Research for IACUC submissions
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Undergraduate Students
      • ​​​​​​​IRB HSEM-D2L
  5. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Enter the appropriate Description
    • Employees/Graduate Students
      • Enter [Last Name] CITI Record
    • Undergraduate Students
      • Enter [Last Name] HSEM Record
  6. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Enter completion date for Effective Date
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Employees/Graduate Students may also enter a five-year expiry date for CITI credentials
  7. Select the Choose File button to locate, select, and upload credential
  8. Select the Attach button

Troubleshooting

  1. Use a Supported Browser
    IRBNet works best with updated versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Avoid using Internet Explorer or mobile browsers.

  2. Check for Pop-Up Blockers
    Some registration steps may involve pop-ups. Disable pop-up blockers temporarily or allow IRBNet in your browser settings.

  3. File Format & Size
    PDF and JPEG are compatible. Large files can fail to upload.

  4. Document Not Displayed
    Refresh the page or lout out/in.

  5. Sequence of Actions
    Upload credentials prior to starting a new project to avoid delays.
