Saving Files to OneDrive

Summary

Microsoft OneDrive is our "cloud storage" solution with 1 TB of storage. You can upload files from your WSU desktop or laptop to your OneDrive and work on those files directly using Microsoft Office applications. This is a great option for safeguarding your files if your device(s) should ever fail or need to be exchanged. By default, any file you upload to your OneDrive cannot be accessed by any other user unless you have shared it with them.

Saving Files to Your OneDrive

There are several ways to save files from your laptop to the OneDrive. Below you can choose the one that works best for you. 

Choosing Save as

To save files from your laptop as you draft a document, go to the File option of your software and select Save as and choose the OneDrive option with your StarID or your name.

Drag and Drop Method

Open OneDrive in your preferred browser window and File Explorer in another window. You can now drag-and-drop files between windows.

Upload Method

Access your OneDrive through your preferred browser and select Add New button, then File Upload or Folder Upload option and it will show all the files and folders on your laptop.
