Summary
If you are a current Winona State student, faculty, staff, you may install up to five copies of Microsoft 365 (M365), also known as Microsoft Office, through our M365 portal on any personally owned devices. This software is good as long as you are a member of our institution or one of the other 37 institutions in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. Install Microsoft 365 (M365) Software:
All e-Warrior laptops and campus computers have the Microsoft desktop applications be installed on the devices.
- Go to Microsoft Apps Portal and select Sign In.
- Sign in with your MinnState login credentials.

Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu
Password:
StarID password
- In the top-right corner, select Install apps → Microsoft 365 apps.
- Select Install Office to start the download. You may need choose Install Office on two different screens.
- When the download finishes, select the file in your Downloads folder, or whichever folder your downloads go, to start the installation.
- Follow the on screen instructions to complete the install.
- When installation is complete, open any Microsoft Office app on your computer and sign in again with the same credentials as above in step 2.
