The System Office will remove old media annually. Use these instructors to restore your media in Kaltura MediaSpace.

Media Retention Schedule and Process
The data removal and purge process is conducted annually in March by the System Office.
Media will be moved to the Recycle Bin if the media was created more than 5 years ago and the media not played within 2 years. Media in the recycle bin can be viewed and restored by the owner.
After 21 days, media in the Recycle Bin is archived and is no longer available for use or viewing. Archived media can be restored by submitting a help request with the System Office. After 2 years, archived media is purged. Media is no longer available to be restored.
Reset the Clock
To reset the 2-year schedule on media, open the media and play it.
- Opening the media without playing will not reset the schedule.
- Restoring the media without playing will not reset the schedule.
Restoring Media from the Recycle Bin
If your media has been moved to the recycle bin, you have 21 days to browse, view, and restore the media before it is archived. To restore media from the recycle bin, perform the following steps:
- Access the MediaSpace Recycle Bin or navigate to it by clicking on your name in the top right corner of Kaltura.
- Search or browse for the media. You will have the option to preview the video.
- Click the Restore icon (circular arrow).
- Select Restore.
