Accessing Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

To access the Adobe products provided to all WSU students, follow the steps below.

  1. Request access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite by submitting this Software RequestNote: Turnaround time on these requests is usually just one business day.
  2. Once you've received your welcome emails from Adobe, log into Adobe.com. Note: Please check your junk mail folder for the Adobe welcome emails.
  3. Choose the Sign in button on the page. Type in your StarID@winona.edu (employees and students) and click on the Continue button.
  4. You will be redirected to a Microsoft Sign page. Type in your StarID@go.minnstate.edu (students) and you will be prompted to type your StarID password and choose Sign In. Verify your identity with the multi-factor authentication (MFA).

We encourage you to download and install the Creative Cloud Desktop app first. Once installed, this app can be accessed using the desktop shortcut on Windows or from your Applications folder on macOS. When you open the Creative Cloud Desktop app it lists all the other applications that are part of our Creative Cloud license, allowing you to download them and update them without going through the process above every single time.

Downloading an Application

  1. Log into Adobe Creative Cloud (either in a browser or the Desktop App, the process will be the same for both) with your WSU email address and password.
  2. On the top of the Adobe Creative Cloud homepage you will see a tab that says Apps. All of your available options are listed here.
  3. You can download the apps on 3 different platforms, found at the top of the App page. The App page should automatically be on Desktop and then just choose the app you want to download.
  4. There are also various filters for sorting the apps on the left hand side.
  5. You have access to all of these applications. (Note: not all apps are shown in the photo) To download one, click on the "Install" button below to the right hand side of the applications name.
  6. If you have the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App installed, it will say "Installing" underneath the chosen application.
  7. The installation progress can be seen directly under the chosen app's name. (i.e Photoshop).
  8. If you are using a Mac, once the App is installed you will see a notification pop up.
  9. If you are using a Mac, you can find your downloaded applications in the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, Launchpad, or in the Applications folder.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online learning platform licensed by Winona State University that provides access to thousands of self-paced courses led by professional instructors. Any Winona State University student or employee can sign in to LinkedIn Learning using their StarID credentials. Courses consist of a series of short videos designed to help you develop your creative, technical, and business skills. LinkedIn Learning provides continuous, self-service access to videos via multiple devices, at home or on the go, online or offline. When you finish a course, download a certificate of completion and share it through social media and your online resume, where employers can identify your skills and professional interests. Instructors can curate collections of LinkedIn videos, share them with students, and monitor their progress.

Activating Your Account

Before you can start using LinkedIn Learning, you will need to activate your Winona State University account. This involves signing in to the LinkedIn Learning website using your StarID credentials, deciding whether to connect your LinkedIn Learning account with your LinkedIn account, and selecting several topics of interest. Your account will remain active as long as you are a Winona State University student or employee.

  1. Navigate to the LinkedIn Learning homepage.
  2. Select the Sign In button at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Sign in using your organization email, this will be your Winona State email address, not your StarID (e.g., sara.smith@go.winona.edu) and select Continue.
  4. Select Sign in with Single Sign-On.
  5. Enter the version of your username with your StarID (e.g., jd8762vd@minnstate.edu or ab1234cd@go.minnstate.edu).

You will be asked whether you want to connect your personal LinkedIn account, if you have one, to your WSU LinkedIn Learning account. You do not need a personal LinkedIn account to use LinkedIn Learning and you do not need to connect the two. LinkedIn is a popular online resume and professional networking service and connecting the two services has some advantages. You can always decide to do it later and the two can be disconnected later.
