NextGen Student Worker
Minnesota State has confirmed key NextGen Student Worker decisions for the planned Workday Student go-live in Fall 2029: campuses will be required to post and manage student job announcements and applications in Workday (with no Handshake or similar integrations provided at go-live). In addition, each campus will process its own student payroll locally in Workday using standard configured payroll processes rather than centralizing or outsourcing.

Common Course Numbering (CCN)
Minnesota State will proceed with implementing Common Course Numbering (CCN) for 53 commonly transferred courses as part of the broader NextGen initiative. CCN supports clearer transfer pathways, improved course equivalency transparency, and student mobility through a standardized four-letter/four-digit structure.
