YuJa Panorama
Creating accessible digital materials doesn’t have to be overwhelming. YuJa Panorama analyzes documents—such as PDFs, Word files, and PowerPoint presentations—for accessibility. Importantly, YuJa Panorama will not catch all accessibility issues - human review is necessary.
Within D2L Brightspace, your content and files will have an accessibility icon indicating a score (see below).
Note: Students will only see a standard purple icon to access alternative formats, not the score.

Viewing Accessibility Reports
To review the Accessibility Report:
- Click on the accessibility icon next to the content.
- At the top of the menu, select the Accessibility Report (Figure below).
- You will see two numbers - the first (Figure part 1) is the Accessibility Score.
- The second (Figure part 2), is the number of accessibility issues in the file.

Understanding the Accessibility Report
Each document receives a score from 0 to 100, based on factors such as:
-
Use of headings
-
Alt text for images
-
Table structure
-
Color contrast
There are three icons that may show on D2L Brightspace content .
- Green - high level of accessibility (scores above 80)
- Yellow - moderate level of accessibility (scores between 60-80)
- Red - low level of accessibility (scores below 60)

YuJa categorizes issues by severity:
Start by fixing severe and major issues; this will quickly improve your score and make your content more usable for all learners.
Making Changes
Click on the Accessibility Report to see the accessibility issues and make revisions.
- The first part of the Accessibility Report (Figure 4.1) shows a summary of the accessibility issues.
- The second part of the Accessibility Report (Figure 4.2) shows the individual issues and provides options to Check Issue or Fix Issue.
- As you make revisions, they will appear in the third part of the Accessibility Report (Figure 4.3). Once you are done making revisions, click Apply Changes.

Note: Once the revisions have been made, you will need to download the revised version and replace the original document in D2L Brightspace.

Creating Alternative Formats
To review the available formats, click on the thumbnail for the file.
To select a format, hover over it and select Generate. Once processed, new options will appear: View, Download, and Reprocess.
Several alternative formats are available in DocHub (Figure 5 below):
- Text File
- Gradient Reader
- Audio Podcast
- Language Translations
- PDF
- Immersive Reader
- EPUB
- OCR Formats
- Braille Formats
