Question
- How do I request campus photography?
Answer
The WSU Marketing and Communications team provides photography services that support promotion of overall university marketing objectives, including recruitment, retention and fundraising.
WSU employees, departments and clubs may request photography services via the Winona State Service Portal. Requests are subject to photographer availability and are given priority based on alignment with university marketing objectives.
MarComm photographers may be requested to capture:
- pre-arranged marketing photos to be used in official university-produced publications or websites
- documentation of major university events like Commencement and Homecoming
- depiction of overall academic and student life
Priority will be given to requests with potential use for future marketing and communications needs.
Please note:
- Requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance of the event.
- Limited photography services are available outside of standard business hours (8am-4:30pm on Monday-Friday), as well as during summer term and over university breaks.
In most cases, the MarComm team will respond within 24-48 hours either to confirm your request or suggest alternatives.
Alternate Options
If MarComm is unable to provide photography services, you might consider:
- Asking a team member or student employee in your department to take photos with a cell phone. Cell phone cameras can be used for many photographic needs
- Hiring a freelance photographer.
- Using existing photos from the WSU Flickr albums, which are available to the public for download
