How Do I Send an Email to Campus?
Winona State employees can email all faculty, staff, and administrators by using the BCC field and manually entering allemployees@winona.edu. Include a note in the message stating: “This email is being shared BCC to All Employees.” To reduce inbox clutter, limit emails to two per event or announcement, and avoid attachments—links to online resources are preferred.
Emails to All-University or All-Student lists are reserved for critical communications only, such as severe weather alerts or health
Using “Winona State University” Properly
Use the full name Winona State University on first reference in stories, major sections, covers, and addresses. Afterward, abbreviations such as Winona State, WSU, and the university (lowercase “university” when informal) are acceptable.
For the Rochester campus, write Winona State University-Rochester on first mention, then WSU-Rochester, using a hyphen without spaces.
When referring to the system, use Minnesota State instead of “Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.” Preferred phrasing
