Minimum Specifications

These are the minimum specifications your personally-owned device must meet to connect to the WSU network. 

WINDOWS

  • Minimum Display Resolution: 1920x1080 (1080p) or higher.
  • 256 GB solid state drive storage or more (total space, not free space).
  • Intel Core i5 processor (11th Gen or newer).
  • 16 GB RAM or more.
  • Dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi or better (Wi-Fi 6 or better).
  • 64-bit edition of Windows 11 (Education, Pro, or Enterprise).
  • Office 2021, Office 2024, or Office 365 installed.
    • Office 365 is recommended and is available to download/install via the M365 portal
  • Must have administrative rights on their system or the ability to acquire admin rights as-needed.

MacOS

To find this info, look for the Apple menu at the top left of your screen. Select the Apple icon, then select About This Mac.

  • 256 GB solid state drive storage or more (total space, not free space).
  • Intel-based Mac Pro 2019 and 2020 and all Apple silicon Macs (M1-M4).
  • 8 GB RAM unified memory or more.
  • Must be running macOS Sonoma 14.8.1 or newer.
  • Office 2021, Office 2024, or Office 365 installed.
    • Office 365 is recommended and is available to download/install via the M365 portal.
  • Must have administrative rights on their system or the ability to acquire admin rights as-needed.

Anti-virus

All computer equipment attached to the WSU network must have an antivirus program installed, updated and fully functional to ensure your laptop is free from any viruses or malware.
