Question
- How do I get my request to update the website done faster?
Answer
It takes partnership between the MarComm team and campus departments to effectively maintain the Winona State public website.
The MarComm team strives to be highly responsive with our turnaround time for requests to update the website. Campus departments can best support our team by providing clear, complete information within their service requests.
Provide Detailed Directions
Do your best to provide detailed directions about what text needs to swapped out or which link needs to be updated. Feel free to use a Word doc with tracked changes or highlight the areas with updates to provide context of the larger webpage. You can upload this file or include a link to the OneDrive version when submitting the service request.
Keep in mind that our team will make edits as needed in order to follow Winona State Web Strategy and Web Standards.
If you are not sure how to convey the desired changes or have a lot of changes across multiple webpages, we can talk it through via Zoom or an in-person meeting.
Just indicate that you would like a phone call or meeting in the "Other Notes" field when you submit your online request.
Include Any Links or PDFs
Before you submit your request, double-check that you've provided any links or attachments we'll need to complete your request. If you are working on a new webpage or website, you need to provide a rough draft of the content.
There is a field for uploading an attachment when submitting the service request. If you have multiple assets, you can upload them to OneDrive and then include a link to the OneDrive folder instead. Or, you can add more attachments by commenting on the service request ticket once it is created.
Reply Quickly to Questions
The MarComm team wants to make edits correctly on the first try, so we may reach out for clarification if we're not sure of the directions.
If this happens, your request will be placed in the “Waiting on Client” status. Please respond to any follow-up emails or phone calls as soon as you can so that your request stays on track.
If we do make a mistake, please let us know right away by reviewing the changes and replying back to the notification email that your request has been completed.
