StarID

Your StarID is a username that is used across many platforms (for example: D2L Brightspace, Zoom, email). Your StarID is 8 characters - 2 letters, 4 numbers, 2 letters (for example: ab1234cd).

Email

Winona State uses Microsoft 365 for email service. Your email address is formatted as firstname.lastname@go.winona.edu. If there are multiple students with the same name, you will have a number after your name. You can access your mailbox by logging in on Office 365. You will log in with your Microsoft username which is your StarID followed by @go.minnstate.edu (ab124cd@go.minnstate.edu) credentials, not your email address.

On-Campus Printing

At Winona State, we use FollowMePrint with PaperCut, which is a virtual printing queue. When printing, select FollowMePrint from the printers list, then release your job from either the QR Code on the printer or PaperCut. Students are allocated 1,000 pages of printing each semester.

Laptops

Winona State is a laptop university, all full-time undergraduate students (12+ semester credits) on the Winona campus are automatically enrolled in the eWarrior Program.  Rochester campus students can choose to participate in the eWarrior program, but there are a few programs that students are required to participate. Graduate students or part-time students can choose to participate in the eWarrior program. Please contact Tech Support if you would like to enroll in the program or don't know if you are automatically enrolled.

D2L Brightspace is Minnesota State's learning management system (LMS), available to all students and employees. Instructors use this platform to post the syllabus, assignments, quizzes, and more. Use your StarID credentials to sign in.
