My College Roomie helps you start building your WSU community before move‑in. Within the platform, you can:
- Create a personalized profile highlighting your interests and lifestyle
- Connect and chat with other incoming students
- Explore student groups and communities
- Start making friends before move-in
- Learn about campus life from other students
Roommate Requests
Want to room with a specific person?
- Submit your roommate request through the Housing Portal
- Deadline: April 1
- Submitting your request by the deadline lets you choose a room together during housing selection
Getting Started with My College Roomie
My College Roomie (MCR) is available to all incoming WSU students with a completed housing application. No separate registration is required.
Access My College Roomie:
New students with a completed application will receive an email invite within 2 days of completing a housing application.

Log in using the following credentials:
- Username: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
- Password: Your StarID password
Steps to Sign In:
- Select Get Started on the My College Roomie page.
- You will be redirected to the WSU login page via Single Sign‑On (SSO).
- The first time you log in, you'll be prompted to set up Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA).
Tip: Use your own phone or device (not a parent or guardian's device) when setting up MFA. WSU recommends the Microsoft Authenticator app, but text message or phone call verification are also supported.
Having Trouble Logging In?
Try these tips:
- Try signing into your Winona State Email. This confirms your Minnesota State Microsoft log in is working.
- For more information regarding signing into your WSU email, visit the Winona State Email Knowledge Base Article.
- If you can log into eServices or the StarID Self Service, but not My College Roomie or WSU email
- If you have trouble with MFA or are unable to proceed, contact WSU Tech Support by email or call 507.457.5240, option 1.
