How to Hang Posters on Campus

Question

  • How do I hang posters on campus?

Answer

On the Winona campus, any student, employee, or recognized club may place or request placement of posters for WSU-related announcements, events, activities, or achievements.

Posters may only be hung on approved general-use bulletin boards. Posters and flyers may not:

  • Cover egress signage, wayfinding signs, or emergency equipment
  • Be placed on steps, railings, or other non-designated surfaces

General campus-use bulletin boards are managed by individual departments. Review the chart below for approved locations, the number of posters allowed, and any special requirements.

Department or club-specific boards are not for general use. You may contact the department or club directly to request permission.

Posting Without Approval

If you hang posters on non-approved boards or other campus locations without permission, they may be removed and discarded without notice.

To ensure visibility and compliance, submit posters to the appropriate offices.

Next Steps

Contact the offices in charge of campus-use bulletin boards where you would like to hang your posters.

Some departments require advance email notification for poster requests. These are marked with an asterisk (*) in the chart, along with contact details.

Across campus in total you can hang up to:

  • Academic Year: 72 posters
  • Summer Term: 19 posters
