Getting Started
Welcome to Winona State University! The information below will help you access university systems, communicate effectively, and find technology support.
StarID
Your Minnesota State StarID is your unique login credential for most WSU and Minnesota State services. It consists of two letters, four numbers, and two letters (for example: ab1234cd).
You will use your StarID and password for as long as you are an employee within the Minnesota State system. Your StarID never expires and remains permanently associated with you.
For more information, visit the StarID article in this Knowledge Base.
WSU Email
Minnesota State and WSU uses Microsoft 365 for email, file storage, and productivity tools. All employees receive a WSU email account.
Be sure to check your WSU email regularly; this is the university's primary method of communication.
For more information, visit the WSU Email article in this Knowledge Base.
Training and Software Support
The Teaching, Learning, and Technology (TLT) team is available to help you learn the software on your new laptop.
You can also explore articles in the WSU Knowledge Base for self-guided support.
Another excellent training resource is LinkedIn Learning, which offers video courses on a wide range of topics, including many tools used at WSU. All WSU employees and students have full access to these courses.
